Whilst the idiom raises a mild titter, it does several things:

It excludes about 51% of the population so could be considered by them to be anything from irrelevant to offensive in this overly politically correct atmosphere in which we find ourselves

It is inaccurate, or maybe more accurately, it is false for several reasons already stated by others

As a result of the above two accomplishments, and the fact that it is not likely to happen (mine are kept covered almost all the time and especially when biting insects are around, and is therefore unbelievable, so back to the drawing board on this one.

Those numbers are not just Republicans. That's Independents, Democrats, you-name-it, thinking there were serious problems with the 2020 election.

Claim to the contrary it's all bullshit, that the courts rejected hearings on it, or whatever, but when that many people think there were problems with the election process, there is a serious perception problem here. Most Americans are starting to distrust the election process and that's a serious problem--true or not. If that continues there will be a crisis in confidence about elections and that could turn ugly.

So, I'd say the Democrats being in power need to do something to restore the public's confidence in elections. I doubt they will and will instead double down on things that drive confidence down like no voter ID, ballot harvesting, instant voter registration, months long balloting, etc.
