Excuse me but you do seem to be some kind of spokeswoman, or paid shill, for Salifism. I would be far more impressed if you accepted some of the faults rather than just acting as an apologist. I agree that Wikiislam is critical of Islam, it may be biased as well, but then so are you, come to that.

Most of the talk in the West about Salafism is dumb. Its like Calvanism .. a simplification of faith to get rid of the innovations that were introduced by the Ottoman Turks... On the political side, it was also an effort to rid the Arabian peninsula of them.
Its never been a problem for Westerners who lived around it.. and now.. over the past 25 years it has become less strict.... and continues to evolve.
The big set back came because of two events.. the Iranian Revolution and the Siege of the Grand Mosque in Mecca in 1979.. It scared everyone and Islam took a giant step backwards.
