NYT - A Billionaire and a Nurse Shouldn’t Pay the Same Fine for Speeding

Why should the poor get a lower fine for the SAME offense?

Of course we knew you would not understand it. The impact on a poor persons life is much more profound . They often cannot get the money up to pay a fine and a warrant is issued , Then they have real problems that include much higher costs and lawyers. They can wind up in jail because they cannot pay a fine.

You probably don't understand that a wealthy person can be quite cavalier about traffic fines. The money is no problem at all. Or they can send a lawyer to fight it and get it cleared or reduced. So traffic fines are no big deal for them. If you want the wealthy to obey the laws, then you have to make it hurt them too.

What man? All I see is a coward too afraid to declare what he is.
You are pathetic.

All I see is a stupid nigger that expects a MAN to repeat what he's already answered because the former is either too stupid or too lazy to find it.

Something isn't determined to be a violation of the law based on the SES of the offender. That means the fine shouldn't be based on SES either.

I have a solution. Don't break the law and you won't have to worry about a fine.

The poor have no need to obey the laws under what you support. Why would they. There is no punishment. Same things with social welfare. Why would the poor ever want to better themselves when someone else is forced to support their sorry asses.

Nigger.

I'm trying to understand how although having answered your question you consider me a coward. I guess you apply the same mindset to calling me a racist without having provided proof of it.

i would not be opposed to this for certain things. Bail price is the first thing that immediatly comes to my mind.

Bail and fines are two different things. Ability to not show up in court is taken into account where bail is concerned.
On a side note this thread was going good up until the post I'm responding to. Then it just turned into a you're a racist, no you're a racist fest. Seems pretty inconsiderate and not conducive to rational discussion.
