Why should the poor get a lower fine for the SAME offense?

You want equality then let's replace fines with license suspensions and jail time. Make every first time DUI offender do 2 months in jail. I'm cool with that.

A rich guy pays 50k in income tax, he pays 300.00 for speeding ticket

The poor guy with an income of 18k a year pays zero income tax and gets 3500.00 back...he pays 3.00 for speeding ticket

The rich guy is probably a lawyer or banker or athlete or politician or entertainer. A completely useless person with a "job" of no social value. Make scum like that pay.

The bleeding heart Liberals are constantly talking about a living wage for the low income yet when it comes to being held responsible for their actions, those same bleeding hearts was a lesser penalty.

First time DUI offenders should do more than that in jail.
