There is a theory that immigration should be done in spurts ... from specific countries ... in order to give new American immigrants time to assimilate. As many have noted the kids do assimilate.

The idea would be to allow immigration for 20 years (one generation) from a specific country, then stop it 40 years (two generations). Then repeat.

I should add a disclaimer: I have the greatest respect for all the south american workers I've encountered. They mostly all work as hard or harder than I do (I do hard work.. it sucks). I loved working in the trades because I met all kinds of great people. There was even the dude from Trinidad that always bummed smokes and never had a single buck on him when he ordered food at the deli LOL. I felt so worried for the dude with the snowstorm coming, I bought him some windshield wipers at the Newtown Amoco so he could drive down Rt25 to Bridgeport. We had stopped at Davey Brothers down in the hook (Sandy Hook right next to the school) for some grub and the dude, Bala, ordered a sandwich and then put us all on the spot when it came to ring it up. LOL I payed for his fucking sandwich, the fucker. Everyone else there refused. I was only 19 LOL live n learn

Living in California we get a glimpse of the future in that Hispanics will be the largest racial/ethnic block in the state in the near future if they aren't already. But I don't see changes to what we consider being an American (at least yet). The biggest difference I see is the passion for soccer these folks have. Baseball is America's pastime, football our current most popular sport but soccer is the world's most popular sport. If one day we see our LeBron James', Steph Currys', Antonio Bryants' etc. playing soccer instead of basketball or football then we'll know America has really changed.

we should be teaching Spanish and English to all of our kids


children who learn more than one language while their brains are still maturing effectively wire the brain for multiple languages


it then becomes easier to learn other languages


It improves the human brain

these children's brains are made more organized and actually perform to a higher level on IQ tests


It is an idiots idea to FORCE only one launguage

This speaks to your lack of an education. immigrant children are usually the ones that speak English and speak for the parent it's been that way for a couple of hundred years now. If you were educated you would know stuff like this. Taking us a hundred years to get Italians to the point where they're not supporting the mafia anymore.

You can't even speak English fluently, so I doubt that your Spanish is even intelligible. For the record I speak French and Thai fluently, and am currently trying to learn Vietnamese.
 
All people should work harder at inclusiveness.

G&T students should take more Spanish and dump Latin and French and German.
The lackluster white kids should go to the gym and get prepared for their shovel ready jobs.
