Home Office investigated over English test cheating claims
National Audit Office acts as MPs warn scandal could be ‘bigger than Windrush’

A government watchdog has launched an investigation into the Home Office’s decision to accuse about 34,000 international students of cheating in English language tests, and will scrutinise the thinking behind the subsequent cancellation or curtailment of their visas.

More than 1,000 students have been removed from the UK as a result of the accusation and hundreds have spent time in detention, but large numbers of students say they were wrongly accused. Over 300 cases are pending in the court of appeal as hundreds attempt to clear their names. MPs have warned that this immigration scandal could be “bigger than Windrush”.

The National Audit Office (NAO) has been making preliminary inquiries into the government’s handling of the issue since the beginning of the year, and has now announced that it will proceed with a formal investigation. The body is expected to report its findings in late May or June.

On the face of it the Brits have been expelling people who have every right to live there by claiming that they ' failed ' English exams which they'd already passed. Some of the ' failures ' have degrees in English.

What's really racist is that the British can't just have policies to keep their country British. They have to go around the law to halt mass immigration.

Unfortunately, the Country hasn't been British since c100 A.D. Mass immigration ceased a fair time back, when the electorate decided on future poverty and colonial status forever. We should be glad anyone will come here and work, under the circumstances.

Countries do fine without mass immigration. Why does the UK need it?

Those peoples came together to form the modern British people. It was them that went on to make the UK as a country. So yes, Britain is British. And that didn't start changing until recently.
I'm not saying any country should have purity, but every country should try to maintain the genetic and cultural make-up of the population.

I agree, as it happens- but you can't just terminate the evolution of populations. The ebb and flow of ALL people is essential to the development of cultures. You can't ' arrest ' development at a point you consider appropriate.

Sure we can. Just have Nationalist border policies like most countries have.
And we don't need immigration in order to have a development of culture. Look at how Japan has progressed as a culture and society over the generations. Ethnic Nationalism does not cause arrested development.

Not really. Colonization was good for Africa, but bad for Europe. The European countries that advanced the furthest and fastest were the ones that didn't colonize as much.

Well- I would argue that, in the cases of the USA, the UK, Australia, New Zealand, Canada- countries that I know well- you'd be locking the stable door after the horse has bolted. Trump will not survive the accusations of fascism- I dare to predict- and the UK Tories won't either, nor Scott Morrison's despicable assholes.

I've never lived in Japan- so I can't comment on Japan specifically. However- courtesy of the educational benefits of television- Japan is WEIRD !

The southern bit became part of a foreign empire at that date, and the 'English' bit has been conquered by all sorts of foreigners ever since. The English are so under the thumb of their incompetent and idle foreign-derived masters that only more foreigners can help them.

But the English people still exist, even if they were conquered by other people in the past.
Why do they need more foreigners when they were doing well without them?

'English' means 'Angles', a gang of foreign mercenaries that disappeared long since, who forced their name on the British people in those parts . They are not doing very well at all, despite a great deal of thieving. Moreover, capitalist economics means that they can't have enough children to keep the Country going, so unless foreigners come to pay the pensions, the whole country is buggered.
