Red Flag Law- Extreme Risk Protective Order

I did not say that. I said thanks for teh background

Which goes to show that you didn't have a clue as to how it's enforced or do I need to remind you, by reposting some of your own comments??

Just admit it, that you were running on your feels and didn't even know what you were supporting.

no, you just seem to be advocating a litmus test for sanity and forcing extra costs to survive them

Agaaaaaaaaaaaaain. If there are already witnesses who know the person and have seen, heard or experienced violent behavior out of the norm
for an extended period of time and knows the guy either HAS a gun or WANTS a gun......better be safe than sorry.

fuck off. how;s that instead?
every once in awhile you get squirrely with me. and I tolerate it to an extent - but i'm not here to get into a pissing match with you either

I am familiar enough with the concept of the hearings and the due process to be able to discuss it.
Now you can tell me I'm not and waste time and dig up previous posts for some picayune reason only you care about

nope, and in case you haven't noticed lately i've been getting hammered from people on both sides because I don't lean right or left........but with the constitution. something most people don't even understand

That is because it was written in 1776 and governmental terms have changed since the days of Kings and Kingdoms, and when Democracy was an experiment!

No one even knows WTF the 2nd Amendment means- And that is why people are confused- because even Scalia admitted the wording was flawed, contradicted itself, and was hard to be interpreted by even himself. But, that did not stop him from trying to interpret it and ruling on it!

Congress has realized this 30 years ago, as they know the amendment needs to be repealed and updated, but the two parties are so politically jaded now, they don't have the balls to debate on it!

why don't you make your point instead of asking a poorly worded question?
what is "it's" ? the government itself? the rights?
fine, my point is how do you come to terms with a document that we the people wrote, that created our new federal government, intended to limit that new federal government, yet allowing that government (through SCOTUS) to determine the limits of its own power?

as previously stated take it up with SCOTUS
so you rely on SCOTUS to determine your rights? see my above statement

i've been on record, forever, on this forum that there are things outside the federal governments power, marijuana being just one of them. if you think that just because the government makes a law, that's the bottom line, you've failed as an American.

It's usually the Bottom Line by executive action these days. And then it will flip the very next election cycle!

It is crazy and frustrating! No wonder everyone is upset! It seems there are a lot of double standards when it comes to the Constitution.

And there seems to be a very poor disregard for Democracy these days- and rule of law- brought about by Donald Trump!

we didn't write the constitution to allow the government to rewrite it's 'terms'

stop relying on the convoluted words of a fucking lawyer to understand words that are not only clearly written, but expounded upon in numerous statements from the founders

the 2nd Amendment doesn't give us the right to bear arms, it tells the federal government that it has no power over them. repealing the 2nd doesn't really change that, it just ignores the warning to the feds. now, if you feel that surrendering your ability to keep your freedom is in your best interest, perhaps this isnt the country for you
