That was the specific language I was thinking of. How do you know that little scritchy thing on your neck doesn't really mean "FU" in Mandarin? lol
We're both dating ourselves too, but I agree. I don't get it either. That being said, some skin art is very beautiful and you can see why the wearer is proud of it. It's just not for me.
Beards are kind of the same way. When we were coming up, beards were a "hippie" thing and most employers forbid employees to wear them. Now they're everywhere; even some of the police officers in town have (neatly-trimmed) beards!

Never did much for the Picts - but perhaps that was just paint. As to beards, I've had four in my time. The first time I shaved one off, no-one noticed. Depressing!

No tatts and never a beard, but I have never shaved under my nose. I've had a mustache since leaving high school. I doubt my friends would recognize me if I shaved it.

I tried that in the RAF where beards were out. Didn't do much for me, and changed colour alarmingly when I took up snuff to cover the times when smoking was verboten!

I did have the start of a beard when I was in the hospital, but shaved it when I got out. It was just too annoying.
The GF says I'd look younger if I shaved my mustache, but at this stage in the game, it really doesn't matter.

Sasha is okay because technically it is a diminutive that can be either male or female. I have run across a couple of women named Misha and I did not have the heart to tell them it is the Russian diminutive name for Michael
