If you had told me that Democrats would be supporting free healthcare for illegals or reparations, I would have laughed as well. If you had told me that we'd see mobs of leftists defacing and removing statues of Thomas Jefferson and George Washington, I would have thought you were insane.

Things have changed, and not for the better. Not much can surprise me now.

And nobody ever said that they wanted Mount Rushmore destroyed except for that lone Native American.

As to your "Overton Window" post, I can also just easily state that the Overton Window will shift to the right and anything resembling different religions (for example) will be destroyed. We see that with ISIS.

I know you are intelligent and we've had good discussions. Granted, I was like that in the past.

It is true that the Overton Window can differ between countries. ISIS is a good example of how Islam, in many areas, has shifted to the extreme right. Granted, it is weird to see many on the left make excuses for Islam (despite how Islam is usually more conservative than the conservatives of the West).

I enjoy our discussions as well, and you're a good debater. So, you were conservative in the past?

Interesting. I was raised by liberal parents, but I think my current conservatism is less a matter of me changing views so much as the Democrats and the left changing views. A lot of the views I hold now were pretty similar to the ones I had in the past, although I did become specifically more economically conservative in recent years. My social stances were left or center left by 90s standards, but apparently, that's now considered conservative today.

The irony is that I became progressively (yes pun intended) liberal while attending Liberty University.

I can be fiscally conservative but it depends. I've had a respect for some famous old school conservatives.

As to being social, I am wide open. People are who they are. Ideas are ideas. It makes the world colorful. ;)
