Step 1: Ban all production of firearms for civilian and law enforcement use.

Step 2: Institute a gun buyback program that overpays for the guns. Like, really overpays for them. Like, stupidly overpays. Make it all anonymous, no-questions-asked, but make it for a limited time only. That would be the greatest stimulus program in the history of this country...it would inject trillions of dollars into the economy, which would benefit everyone.

Step 3: For those who still refuse, when they die, their guns are automatically surrendered to the state under penalty of law. And the heirs get no money for them when they are.

If this is the law, then you "law abiding gun owners" have to follow it, right?
