Where have all the board lefties gone?

This is what a good friend of mine, who is a doctor, has to say! I will address the rest later.

Yeah, both sides had their expert medical witnesses and both think their own was the more credible. Nobody, including this doctor, mentions the fact that Floyd was face-down with his hands cuffed behind his back and surrounded by four police officers. If they thought he had the superhuman ability to release himself and go on to attack the cops, they could have tased him.

Your doctor wrote "The first 6 mins is significant because he then faints ..." He was unconscious after six minutes yet Chauvin still chose to kneel on his neck for another 3-1/2 minutes. It doesn't make sense. Chauvin chose to finish off a suspect who was close to death. Depraved indifference.

It was actually 7 minutes, 46 seconds, which was deduced from the timestamps on videos. So much bullshit spouted by people with ulterior motives.

If they had tased him and Floyd died, BLM would have been rioting about that.

I guess that's another "he said, he said" then. Note that the defense accepted this timeline.

"Former Minneapolis Police officer Derek Chauvin knelt on George Floyd for 9 minutes and 29 seconds, prosecutors said Monday, correcting the 8:46 timing that has become a symbol of police brutality.
In opening statements of Chauvin's criminal trial, prosecuting attorney Jerry Blackwell repeatedly emphasized the new 9:29 timing, telling jurors they were the "three most important numbers in this case."

He broke down the timing of Chauvin's kneeling into three sections: 4 minutes and 45 seconds as Floyd cried out for help, 53 seconds as Floyd flailed due to seizures and 3 minutes and 51 seconds as Floyd was non-responsive.

Chauvin's defense similarly accepted the new timing as accurate to support its own arguments."

You won't accept anything from the Daily Mail, well snap for CNN. I think there is more than enough to go for an appeal. The two most devastating reasons in my book was that deranged bitch Mad Max and the 27 million awarded to Floyd family before the trial even started. How either of them can be justified is beyond me.

It gives me no joy to say this but....... Bad reaction the the jab? They are dropping like flies. So many missing in so short of a time. Just gone with no forewarning. No idea whats up but I fear it isnt good. Anyone else noticed this?

My bet is they're camped out in front of the TV, pen and paper in hand, waiting desperately for CNN and MSNBC to tell them the vegetable crop in the white house and congress has done something original that actually benefits Americans(bonus if it's something Trump didn't already do). Alternatively, they're just looking for "bad" Trump stuff to recycle. And there's probably a lot of whimpering in the fetal position going on.

Pretty much. Seems to be their specialty.

I put the Daily Mail in the same category as the NY Post, neither are hard news sources IMO. And I also believe that no foreign news source can know all the history and details of incidents happening here, any more than we can understand the same about foreign countries. Did your sources tell you that Chauvin has a very dicey record with the cops, 18 complaints, and has been up on excessive force charges many times? What Chauvin did with Floyd he also did with a 14-year old boy, who thankfully didn't die. Chauvin seems to be the type who shouldn't be in police work.

Yes I know about his record, mostly complaints about him giving people verbal abuse. So what's a hard news source these days? The NYT most certainly isn't, it's struggling to survive so is getting down and dirty with the rest. Oh and by the way, the Daily Mail has won Newspaper of the Year eight times, more than any other UK paper, bet you didn't know that!
It's easy to get hoity toity about mid market papers but they are all struggling to get market share and therefore have to cater for a broad readership. Don't worry though they'll be hardly any left in 10 years or less.

How much have murders gone up in Pittsburgh since last year, easy to be dogmatic when you don't live in a nightmare environment in the projects. The statistics represent an 80% increase in homicides and a 90% increase in shootings when compared to the same time frame in 2020. How ironic that people moved from Chicago because of the huge crime rates only to vote to for politicians that allowed the same to take root in Minneapolis.

Those cops were battling for 20 minutes with Floyd, even the bystanders told him to give it up as he couldn't win.

It's terrible. Maybe a lot of this has to do with the stress of the pandemic and how it messed up people's lives. As the chief said, "It's part of a national surge in violence, but "this is not Pittsburgh..."

This is from a RW source: "A review of police data and public reporting found that in the first three months of 2021, the homicide rate in 20 major cities across the country rose by 28% from the same period last year." https://www.washingtontimes.com/news/2021/apr/4/homicide-spike-inundates-cities-slashed-police-fun/

You know as well as I do that gun violence is on the rise in the US. The problem is how to stop it.

You won't stop it by sending out a signal to the gangs that the police are scared to do anything lest BLM and Antifa pays a visit. I just read that police retirements are up 75% in the NYPD, be honest can you blame them?

Most of the homicides here aren't gang-related. They are usually one-on-one and the result of drunken brawls or domestic disputes. You brought up BLM and Antifa as if every homicide here is political but they're not.

Btw, Pittsburgh police have been under consent decrees in the past because of civil rights violations. So there's plenty of blame of both sides about the problems here.
