check out the headline- then see how misleading it is from reading the story...but fox knows most of its sheep don't like reading and only read the headline, and very slowly while moving their lips.

In Journalism, this is what is called a misleading POS headline, and done with malice aforethought in this case, since it is Fox spewing crap about a democrat:

U.S. Sen. Tammy Duckworth, D-Ill., a disabled U.S. military veteran, has been criticized by a Chicago newspaper for taking advantage of a tax break that has allowed her to avoid paying property taxes on her Cook County, Illinois, home since 2015.

In an article published Friday, the Chicago Sun-Times identified Duckworth as one of more than 27,000 homeowners in Cook County who avoid paying the tax by taking advantage of various exemptions that the Illinois General Assembly has made possible over the years.

In Duckworth’s case, the 53-year-old U.S. senator pays zero in property taxes because she has a disability rating of 70% or higher, as determined by the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs, the Sun-Times reported.

Duckworth lost both of her legs and some use of her right arm after the helicopter she was piloting was hit by a rocket-fired grenade in Iraq in 2004.

Now that is some dirt journalism.

And notice how they found a way to talk about Duckworth dying?

"The senator is eligible for the tax break in Illinois until she dies..."

How very crass.

Because they know their viewers are dumb. They do this to keep their voting base secured.

I have a friend who's very right wing. I told him he should read more moderate news sources like Politico, USA Today, WSJ and Bloomberg to get a better perspective of what's real and what's biased. He said he wasn't going to do that because he's 'right wing' and he likes what he hears on right wing news.
Some people are just sucked too far in to the right wing fake-news vortex and don't want to leave because they like what they hear, true or not.

I'll never understand that.

Politico is fairly well to the Left of Center. Useless News Today (USAToday) is the "McPaper" of sources. That is, they are all but devoid of information.

Actually, Politico is not that. It is even in many ratings and SLIGHTLY leaning left in others. From your far,far-right perch, everything not Blaze or Fox is left.

do you even get how sad and hypocritical it is when repubs and other trump stooges claim they love our veterans, and our soldiers, but only if they spew right wing bullshit they want to hear? this woman lost both legs flying a helicopter in a combat zone and you cannot even respect her for that sacrifice due to your sick ass political obsession? reminds me of chickenshit trump disparaging all POWs when he said he preferred his heroes were never captured, while trying to insult McCain...like an asshole. like you.

why is it wrong to question this loophole?

she can afford the tax - why make special provisions like this? I mean, I know why - you buy votes.

but don't gaslight us into being the bad guys for not doing so.

If it's legal why is it an issue? I imagine she also gets a disability check monthly from the VA for her grievous injuries sustained while on active duty. Is Fox going to cry about that, too?

Playing the victim again, eh?

Like it or not, you have to acknowledge Murdoch and Ailes coming up with the “Fair and Balance,” “We report, you decide” lie to pretty much peddle any propaganda they wanted under the disguise of actual news When people are trained to believed everything has two legitimate sides you can sell anything and give credence to any innuendo
