Another Misleading Fox Headline Smearing A Democrat

check out the headline- then see how misleading it is from reading the story...but fox knows most of its sheep don't like reading and only read the headline, and very slowly while moving their lips.

In Journalism, this is what is called a misleading POS headline, and done with malice aforethought in this case, since it is Fox spewing crap about a democrat:

U.S. Sen. Tammy Duckworth, D-Ill., a disabled U.S. military veteran, has been criticized by a Chicago newspaper for taking advantage of a tax break that has allowed her to avoid paying property taxes on her Cook County, Illinois, home since 2015.

In an article published Friday, the Chicago Sun-Times identified Duckworth as one of more than 27,000 homeowners in Cook County who avoid paying the tax by taking advantage of various exemptions that the Illinois General Assembly has made possible over the years.

In Duckworth’s case, the 53-year-old U.S. senator pays zero in property taxes because she has a disability rating of 70% or higher, as determined by the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs, the Sun-Times reported.

Duckworth lost both of her legs and some use of her right arm after the helicopter she was piloting was hit by a rocket-fired grenade in Iraq in 2004.

In some states, all combat vets get a rather generous tax break on property taxes.

Ironic that Fox doesn't care about all of the religious tax exemptions that plague this nation.

Hello ThatOwlWoman,

And notice that she properly claims the modest $250K home as the residence. A greedy rightie would swap it over to the much more expensive VA home and get a bigger tax break.

And, naturally, Fox would never say a word about it in that case.

Oh, you mean like Josh "Hedontliveinbohunkmissouri" Hawley does?

My late mother-in-law's Illoinois property (home, farmland) was worth a lot more than that, yet because of her age she was exempted from taxes. I think we paid (my husband was her POA) $15/year or something. Maybe the Reichwingers should cry about *that,* too.

You gonna trash these guys too for accepting benefits of their service?

Of course not

they are republicans

nobody is thrashing the person - that is what libs do

We are questioning the policy - I don't agree with this policy - and prefer the states - that mean test this loophole.

the higher the value of the house, the more tax it should produce for the community. It also discourages us from having too large of houses, which is not green

Great point.

Betcha Duckworth pays more taxes than Joel "GiveItUpForGodAndMyMansion" Osteen does.

her family has an annual salary around 650k. she can pay property taxes which is used for education, and lots of other things in the community she resides in.

I'm an Illinois Resident - are you - or are you just butting into things that don't actually pertain to you

Trashing her and people defending her deserved benifits

yes, I am so envious that our unskilled working class live better than the rest of the world. we have thousands lining up at our Southern border because of this disparity, yet we can have millionaires living here not paying property tax - and shit heads like you defend the crazy system

your entire existence is class warfare nonsense - which means America lives like nobody else can live - and you think you have a green solution to pass onto the rest of us - and the rest of the world

go smoke more crack - here is what I do know. the system in America is designed to make it easier for Americans - at the expense of the rest of the world, but we have an entire loser class of degenerates that can barely get by - and I suspect you are one of them

Trashing her for receiving benifits

I get so sick of you idiots crying about green issues, but refuse to get our millionaires to even pay property taxes

oh - we are attacking Tammy.

you fucking shit stain are done. not wasting my time with little pussy crybabies

Here you are trashing her and people defending her deserved benifits
