First observation: we are just back to square one: the strait was open on February 28 before Trump started his war. Getting back to where we were before the war is not a victory.
Second, Trump is stating that Iran was the authority that decided the strait should be open. We should not be making statements that imply the decision about the Strait is subject to what the Iranians decide. It's international waters.
No,....we aren't back to where we started. Iran has no navy, no air force, no radar systems, we are flying all over Iranian skies, Iranian leadership is DEAD,...they have bent the knee and will have no nuclear program. On and on and on....things are VERY different if you could see things as they are and be honest instead of a political HACK.

I wonder if he doesn't have early frontaltemporal dementia, like BruceWillis. It affects the part of the mind that oversees behavior and emotions and inhibitions. It can be caused by head injuries, too. The person says and does things that they normally would not have. For instance, a grandma who suddenly starts using swears or screaming at the dog constantly. Or a grandpa who starts saying lewd things about the teenage girls next door, and/or touching them. Trump never had secure filters but he seems to have none any more.

They never really had a nuclear program, they still haven't agreed to dismantle whatever bits they had of one, their navy was a joke from the start and russia will be prividing them with new radar systems as soon as they can be shipped.
So what did the US gain from this waste of lives and money?

I have no doubt they had / have a viable nuclear weapons program going on. What was holding them up was making enough fissile material for say, 4+ bombs in total. Having just one does them no good. Having 3 or 4 in hand works. They can test fire one and then declare they are a nuclear armed nation with more.
Once they have several ready to use, they can build one or more fast fission, graphite moderated, reactors and mass produce plutonium for more potent and numerous bombs. Doing that up front would be obvious and that's why they haven't taken that route so far.
Russia may ship them replacement radar and missiles, but the Russians won't send them the 'good' stuff only export versions that are dumbed down. That has been the Russian MO for over a century now.
