We will not bow to Trump's bullying.
“Iran decided to fire bullets yesterday in the Strait of Hormuz – A Total Violation of our Ceasefire Agreement! … We’re offering a very fair and reasonable DEAL, and I hope they take it because, if they don’t, the United States is going to knock out every single Power Plant, and every single Bridge, in Iran.”
This combination of ungrammatical lies and threats are from a post by Donald Trump on Truth Social.
The unhinged rant placed two claims side by side: an alleged Iranian breach of the ceasefire, and Trump's usual threats.
In response, Esmail Baghaei, spokesperson for Iran’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs, correctly stated that the U.S. “naval blockade” itself constitutes a “violation of the ceasefire,” describing it as “illegal” and “in conflict with the UN Charter.” Iran had consistently said this, and warned of the consequences.
This position effectively shifts responsibility for the collapse of the agreement onto America.
These messages come as the situation continue to slip out of Trump's control.
Iran has announced the closure of their side of the Strait of Hormuz, while a clearly frustrated Trump has declared a “naval blockade” over the same passage, which they have no right to.
The result is a paradox: one of the world’s most critical energy corridors is neither open nor fully closed, but suspended in an inherently unstable state.
The global economic impacts are enormous, and other nations are growing impatient with the petulant president who refuses to admit that he made a mistake when he joined Israel's' latest attack on Iran.
Trump is risking the whole world's peace and prosperity in order to salve his own wounded pride; a sign of megalomania.
