I just want to be sure that if the brain is functioning you consider that to be life.
Your other remark isn't worthy of a response.

But were the parents willing and able to pay for the treatments?

I don't know the particulars of this tragic story so I'm not going to comment on that part of it. I hope that the family finds some measure of peace.

I just find it interesting that right wingers in the U.S. expect that when a person has a kid, that they should be responsible for it and not expect the taxpayers to provide food, housing, medical care, clothing, etc. Yet in this situation the govt. (aka the taxpayers) should pony up. Why is that?
