One...the establishment of the Electoral College was not about dealing with party politics.

Two...socialism is not about giving free stuff out. Neither is communism, for that matter. Fact is, socialistic and communistic regimes are even harder about EVERYONE working. If you didn't work in the old Soviet Union, for instance, you ended up in a gulag.

The electoral college was so that all of america would be represented equally, not just the giant urban population areas in cities where democrats moved the plantation. Look at the last election map all of the blue areas a area high in minority population centers. The majority of the map is red!!! 5 large cities in America should not decide the course of the country, thus the electoral college.
