Blackman shot dead with pants down

Yeah bullshit, they seem to work over here.

It's not bullshit, tazers don't always work. With this video, you really can't tell if the shooting was justified or not since it occurs off camera. I didn't read the story. Was the guy armed? Did he go for the cop's gun?

Here's a video where the tazer didn't work. This is far from a rare occurrence.

its why they dont need guns. Even the french beat them. sad.

Here's another. This officer got shot for attempting to use the non lethal tazer. Still think it's bullshit? The Tazer can be a great tool, but they don't always work.

An unarmed man with his pants around his ankles who pretty clearly has mental problems. A taser can be tried on him first.

Where did you read he was unarmed? The shooting took place off camera. Sometimes all it takes is a threatening gesture, you only have milliseconds to react. It may very well have been a bad shoot, but there's no way you or I could determine that from the video. I will wait until the investigation plays out to make a judgement call. I've watched way too much footage of police encounters to automatically blame the police. Even in cases like this.

Deputy Cameron Brewer repeatedly shouts "get down on the ground" before firing.

bad for deaf people or hard of hearing. It is a death sentence. Yep he yelled at him. that justifies killing. Why not, everything does. I can see he was obviously going to kill all the cops .

Most common sense post on this subject.

The article stated he was unarmed. If the guy reached into his pants by his ankle to pull out a gun this wouldn't be a story.

My bad, it does say that. But I have no idea how the article writer could know this, since the shooting takes place off camera, and, the incident is still under investigation. Hopefully there's badge cam footage.

BTW, "hands up don't shoot" was a story, and that perp was "unarmed" as well.

I remember that. Michael Brown attacked the officer and tried to take his gun. This guy was walking with his pants down. Maybe because I live in SF and see so many mentally ill on the street it doesn't surprise me. So a guy holding nothing with his pants down by his ankles is a different kind of threat and in this case a taser would be best option.
