Censure as a way out of an impeachment vote?

Today, a republican party that appeals primarily to white trash goyim voters is fighting a losing battle. The Electoral College, Supreme Court, and Senate may delay defeat for a time, but they cannot postpone it forever. :laugh:

That many people [and hardly just Trump supporters] see Ukraine gate as the democrats second attempt to remove Trump by any means possible—that’s totally lost on the TDS wing of the party. They don’t get it. Even if their first attempt is under criminal investigation by an appointed prosecutor—it’s still like the first attempt is totally irrelevant to the second attempt.

Even if the second attempt started *within days* after the first attempt was declared an official failure—they still didn’t get it. The thought never occurs to them that people outside Their Bubble might perceive them to be ‘just a little too anxious’ to remove a duly elected President.

The blindness is remarkable. And the democrat media has declared ‘the walls are closing in or etc’ so many times it’s become absurd. They are beyond parody, at this point.

But that explains why the poll numbers for impeachment dropped off so quick—particularly among non-TDS afflicted independents.

On all the evidence, Trump should be impeached and imprisoned. The Impeachment process is historically important because it allows the Republican Party to reveal its true, squalid nature by supporting this scoundrel, and I'd guess they'll go for short-term advantage over principle every time.

Yep, spot on. I suspect they will have to resort to censure, and claim they won't put the country through impeachment. "for the good of the people". Trump is actually wanting a Senate trial, and had said so. I doubt the Dims even have the votes for impeachment at this point though.

Hard to know about that.

But censure is the logical step for democrats: sending articles to the Senate—with no Republican votes would be frowned upon by reasonable people [the founders would do a face palm from their graves] and it would give senate republicans justification to simply vote them down without a trial.

A Senate trial would be risky for Democrats. Even with their tightly controlled hearings led by Schiff, support for impeachment has dropped. Why they think they’d fare better with the process under control of republicans is way beyond me.

A censure vote has none of the risks; it would almost certainly pick up some House Republicans—and since it would actually be bipartisan, it might even leave a mark on Trump before the election.

It’s the Mother of no-brainers but democrats have lost their marbles so there’s no predicting what they’re going to do.

The first people called to testify by the Senate would be Biden and Son.

Old Joe has a new grandson. Hunter denied paternity but the DNA test proved he is the father. Old Joe was a bit testy when asked about being a new grandfather,

I’m more certain of that than whether a vote will actually take place.

You can bet there will be some heated discussions on it. All of the House critters will be hearing from their constituents over the holiday week. If they like what they’ll be hearing I’ll be surprised.

The Democrats are too heavily invested in impeachment to not have the vote in the House. They have, to a man...and woman, screamed that the president has committed high crimes etc. Censure will not happen.

To back down now would cause their base to go further into insanity.

It will be very entertaining to watch Biden and Son snd Schiff squirm if the Senate does not dismiss the charges.
