DeSantis attempting to kill Florida Cruise Industry

I was unaware of the business portion. I'm not sure that is constitutional. But I will go on record as being opposed to the business portion.

That's because you are a true conservative, and not a fascist Reichwinger who thinks that anything an (R) politician does is hunky-dory.

I saw it and I disagree with part of it.

We disagree on the same part. Demanding that the unvaccinated are treated like a protected class is vast overreach. I'm amazed that anyone who claims to be conservative would support it.

Do you have a point? It would make things so much more interesting if you did.
DeSantis did not kill the cruise industry in Florida by banning vaccine passports. Cruising will continue without vaccines being required. The OP poster is full of shit.

Aw! Just put a gold star on the ones who don't have their vaccine proof, and treat them like second class citizens, or steerage!

It only makes sense that cruise lines and air lines that have passengers in close proximity to each other would take steps to ensure the health and safety of their customers.

Right now, most of the cruise lines intend to defy the order. Those that don't won't get business from vaccinated people. This will kill the Florida cruise business. You apparently didn't bother to read this quote:

""At the end of the day, cruise ships have motors, propellers and rudders, and God forbid we can't operate in the state of Florida for whatever reason, then there are other states that we do operate from, and we can operate from the Caribbean for a ship that otherwise would have gone to Florida,"

They are going to tell Florida to pound sand. So you support the governments right to force businesses to accept unvaccinated passengers? That's a good thing in your mind?

Who the fuck is going to go on a cruise where there's a strong possibility that you will contract the virus that has killed over 600,000 people?

Nevermind the fact that cruise ships are disgusting petri dishes in any other time...what kind of soft headed mouth breathing idiot would go on a cruise today?

If you are that fucking stupid, you deserve to get COVID.

Anyone that has already had COVID but has not had the vaccine is perfectly safe. And that is millions of people.

the outrage being shown by you fuckstick progressives over governments use of the commerce clause to do shit you don't like or that you disagree with is like tears from heaven.............fuck off, all y'all and deal with it.

that very same thing could be applied to you moronic progressives.........

How so? I am for government regulation when it makes sense and against it when it does not, thats always been my position.

Excluding someone due to race does not make scientific sense, excluding them because they are a COVID risk does.

No they aren't. They are safe from whatever variant they may have had. For a period of time that is still undetermined.

So if an outbreak happens, you think they'll just let all the vaccinated people roam free on the ship and hit all the ports of call and just lock up the ignorant unvaccinated?

LOL at you.

They have already bent the knee to DeSantis.

They have already bent the knee to DeSantis.

Are you afraid to answer the question? Do you think this is overreach by the government? Yes or no? You think private businesses should 'bend the knee' to government? Pretty telling there, sport.

Ron DeSantis is attempting to singlehandly kill off the cruise industry in Florida with his idiotic ban on vaccine passports. But the Trumptards will be happy I suppose, so go get 'em Ron-Ron!!!!

The cruise lines, naturally, are pushing back, insisting that they will require proof of vaccination and challenge DeSantis's 'order' in court. If they lose, they intend to leave the state. No cruise is going to allow their ships to sail with unvaccinated passengers, and no vaccinated passenger in their right mind would board without that requirement.

"Despite the insistence from DeSantis and Abbott, however, several cruise operators said this week that they plan to mandate vaccines on departures from Florida and Texas this summer.
Celebrity Cruises will be the first to attempt to navigate between DeSantis and the CDC, with a departure from Florida set for June 26. The company is requiring all passengers older than 16 to be vaccinated.
Meanwhile, Norwegian Cruise Line Holdings announced Monday that it plans to resume cruises out of Miami in August -- and will require all passengers to be vaccinated.
"At the end of the day, cruise ships have motors, propellers and rudders, and God forbid we can't operate in the state of Florida for whatever reason, then there are other states that we do operate from, and we can operate from the Caribbean for a ship that otherwise would have gone to Florida," CEO Frank Del Rio said on a May earnings call."

DeSantis might be the worst Governor in the nation. And he is about to be sucked into the Gaetz scandal. Can't wait to get rid of this idiot.

Discuss.

So the cruise industry is going to move to Jersey???? What a dumb oped.

the problem lies with you thinking that you have sense. you don't and never have. in fact, you usually have as little sense as most conservatives do regarding their pet issues.

Excluding someone due to race does not make scientific sense, excluding them because they are a COVID risk does.

excluding anyone, period, is discrimination. Forcing another human being to do something because you say it's in their best interest is the simplest definition of tyranny

Please cite the Fla. law that prevents cruise lines from requiring proof passengers have been vaccinated.

Leftist response you will be getting:
