My brother was "of age" during that time and he and my mother had hatched a plan to get him to Canada with relatives if he was drafted. He was never drafted. Today he's a dependable Democrat voter...

I just know that some of the darkest moments in my life were having to watch Military heroes salute Obama, one of the if not THE worst presidents in our history when it comes to patriotism and loving his country,
At least Trump loves this country and it's values, he's fighting to restore what made us great, Obama on the other hand didn't even know how many states we had

I'm telling you right here and right now! ANY kid from the sticks who managed to get his ass accepted as a RHODES SCHOLAR with or without a draft card in his pocket, get's the deferment. As I have repeated here many times, had I been BILLS' momma (I don't know that he had a dad at that point), I'd marched my ass down and said, take me! I'll go in his place. (She was NURSE, they could have used her skills better than his).

BIDEN HAD A STUTTER. A severe one! He taught himself how to speak well by practicing in the mirror by reciting poetry--day in day out. He had it well into his 20's, finally ridding himself sometime while in law school

I have absolutely no idea that he used that for his deferment. Of his generation, he'd have likely used any excuse BUT! Stuttering WAS a LEGITIMATE case for deferment. And a source of great humiliation. For the clinically ignorant or lacking in common sense, STRESS exacerbates stuttering. Seems to me war might be 'stressful'.

This are some of the other DEMS that I can name of the top of my head that served/and or went to NAM when Bush, Cheney, Rove, Trump, BOLTON, Delay, GINGRICH, McConnell, Boehner, GUILIANI, ROMNEY, Hastert, Armey. ALL of the above and below were of age to go during Viet Nam. (Jeb Bush registered in 71. He was at the tail end of the draft so we'll just say, he just 'skirted' the draft).
