Does it matter that he "was not a fan of Vietnam"?

Kinda funny reading all the Trumpkins here attempt to rationalize Trump's idiocy in stating he would have served if asked, forget it, the guy avoided the draft and now is out there trying to project an image of one who loves the country, loves the military, and wished he had served back in the day. He doesn't give a shit about either no matter how many flags he humps, and he never had any intent of ever going into the military

Amen

Which is a big reason many people aren’t fans of it.

People who served there is an entirely different subject.

Well as history has shown the war escalation was based on a fraud pulled by LBJ. Sadly 58,220 made the ultimate sacrifice for a lie, good reason for people including me to dislike the war and distrust politicians.

Most Vietnam vets just slogged through jungles get involved in firefights with people who were protecting their homeland from invaders. They were thousands of miles from home fighting people who were no threat to America at all. What would a victory look like? There were at least 250,000 Viet soldiers killed and a couple of million civilians. Yet they kept fighting.

Wars are about money and resources. Defense contractors(they really call them that), made fortunes. The military expanded budgets and Generals got TV time. We just brought home wounded and mentally harmed soldiers to a country that had no systems to help them. The VA helped physical wounds, but many suffer from the unseen results of what war does to human beings.
America just keeps sending its youths to conflicts, politically designed conflicts.

Do you ever get anything right? The thread premise is moronic in that a leftist Vietnam war hater is now a HUGE fan of the war and believes that if you didn't get go to Vietnam, you are a coward and unworthy of the Office of the President.

That is the definition of mentally retarded.

I am proud of my service there. If the pols had let us fight the war we would have won.

You did win; the war was lost when Democrats were more intent on removing Nixon than honoring the treaty they agreed to.

American forces never lost a major battle in the war. The rules of engagement preventing US forces from crossing into North Vietnam were moronic. If China wanted to engage in a major war with the US, let it happen and get it over with.

The Chinese would have backed down just as they would have if we had started bombing them when the ILLEGALLY engaged in North Korea.

You brought up Clinton, not me!Even though it was merely to deflect from Trump.
Trump defense 101,deflect to Billary or Obama!

You fucking moron; if you are going to set a lame and stupid standard, it applies to EVERYONE. You leftist douchebags are dumber than a box of rocks.

What exactly would have been gained by winning?
Republican President Nixon pulled out!

We did win you ignorant douchebag. Had we stood by our agreement; millions of innocent lives would have been saved. But they were brown skinned and liberals don't give a shit.

Most of the most devastating wars in modern history occurred with Democrats at the helm. Pearl Harbor was the biggest failure of the Roosevelt Presidency yet idiots idolize him. He handed over Eastern Europe to the Communists.

Roosevelt began the massive welfare entitlement fraud which is the major contributor to our Federal deficits today.

It wasn't about a threat to America you brain dead douchebag. But hey, who cares about the millions who died under the Communist banner when we ran away, right?

Swampy Don is in Europe celebrating the honor and bravery of the the men who conducted the D-Day invasion of France... A Liberation of France, something a Nationalist would never have done.

When asked about his scheming to stay out of service his answer was that, "He was never a fan of Vietnam".

Do you think a poor 18 year old American had the right to simply choose to obey the draft or not? What if enough of those boys on D-Day had just said they were not a fan of France?

What a wimppy self justified pussy the President is.

Does he not realize someone had to go to Vietnam in his place?

John McCain went!

John Kerry went!

Al Gore went!

It would be one thing if Swampy were to apologize or saw he should have, instead he is indignant. What a fucker.

DID IT MATTER TO CLINTON?

DOES HE "LOATHE THE MILITARY", like CLINTON?

Gore LOL HAHAHAHAHAHAH

His father was also not a fan of Nam, And Gore spent less than 5 mths in Nam writing a newspaper, Gore asked for and received an "early out" and was discharged in 1971 well before the war was over

BS.

"...Gore did not arrive in Vietnam until the very end of 1970, by which time only seven months remained of his enlistment term. He couldn’t have served a full year’s tour of duty in Vietnam, because he had considerably less than a year’s service remaining of his two-year hitch when he arrived in that country...

...Gore was assigned a position as reporter covering the activities of the 20th Engineer Brigade in Bien Hoa, South Vietnam. Obviously, this was a non-combat position, and some of those who served with Gore reported that their superiors requested Gore “should cover only military operations where security was good.” However, they also reported that Gore had not asked for any such arrangement, nor was he aware of it."
