Economic damage from climate change

Houstonians have been directly affected by climate change in that the intensity of hurricanes and torrential rains that have hit Houston in recent years, causing not only a 100 year flood, but a 500 year flood, by the devaluation of their homes for being in a flood plain. It has also increased their insurance, and required flood insurance if they carry a mortgage.

Yeah. Islanders are abandoning their habitations, typhoons are killing people by the thousand and millions are being displaced, floods are taking back low-lying agricultural lands,British villages are being written off to marine encroachment etc., etc. and the Australian morons are pushing COAL. Trump is a deaf capitalist. This forum is stuffed with them- along with Denier poseurs.
When I say that I want them prosecuted and punished I do so in the belief that it will become a reality.

Thanks for proving that you are an idiot on this topic.
So you can't describe the difference, eh? That means you can't describe a change.
'mathematical difference'??? LMAO.
That IS what I said. The point is that climate is not a quantifiable value, and there is no way to describe a 'change'.
You do understand that the Earth has not always been as it is today?
So?
That tectonic shifts can alter the landscape?
So? Not climate.
That sun activity can alter the temperature around the globe?
So? Not climate. Temperature is not climate.
That magnetic north has shifted constantly,
So? Not climate.
suggesting forces deep within the earth affecting our climate?
Climate doesn't change...ever.
The stupidity of your demands shows that you lack any fundamental ability for rational thought.
No paradox. You simply can't describe a change.
Quite possibly one of the dumbest comments on this board... EVER. Which is saying a LOT given that we have Garud, Desh and Cypress spouting moronic comments daily.
You seem to think you can describe a change in climate. Still waiting.

Where have you been ? He ( Sock 1) has been denying the existence of paleoclimatology, global weather and even global weather stations for weeks. He's just a troll spitting common-or-garden Denier canards. He's stupid enough to earn his own gif.

Into the Night Soil;

fgm7.15; ( Sock #2 )

Define 'climate change'. What is the global weather right now? Where is there a single weather station measuring the temperature of the Earth?

I don't make absurd claims at all.
Lie.
I report on observable climatic anomalies which contribute to the global consensus of impending climatic disaster. RUN, asshole- because you're in the way of the wave.

From The Manual:
Anomaly: noun
In Climate Science, a meaningless term that warmizombies and Climate-lemmings use to keep deniers off their backs. Climate Scientists have long since been beleaguered by, on the one hand, having to adhere to their religious edicts to proclaim the good news of rising average global temperatures while on the other hand, knowing full well that no one actually knows the earth's average global temperature to any usable accuracy. They have been plagued for four decades by having to weasel-word their way through explanations of how they know the average global temperature is increasing if they never know the earth's average global temperature in the first place. So they hijacked the word "anomaly" and began mass-producing charts with sharply rising graphs showing increasing anomalies! Problem solved! If ever questioned about what exactly is being measured in an "anomaly" then the warmizombie can always fall back on the standard reply: "You're so stoopid!."

(Scientific) Consensus: noun
The majority opinion, on any topic whatsoever, of the brotherhood of Climate Scientists (i.e. Scientific Community).

Global Warming: proper noun
The Arch-villain of the Global Warming mythology; born out of unfettered capitalism, Global Warming acquires His power from "heat" produced by Greenhouse Effect. Global Warming is constantly at war with the goddess Climate,. His favorite weapons are CO2, methane, water vapor and greenhouse gas which he feeds to Greenhouse Effect in return for more "heat" and thus more power.

liberals are enemies of science. They make adjustments to record and forever destroy the clarity of our scientific understanding. They claim some urgent cause that they blatantly manufacture and they act like a religious cult.

More than just "act like"... They ARE a religious cult. Their religion requires them to reject logic, science, and mathematics.

As i stated, you have proven you're an idiot. You're above comments are again nonsense

What's your solution?

I do not have one.
Because you can define the problem. Define 'climate change'.
I am not one of those obscure message board arm chair experts who feels my ego is at risk if I do not invent, contrive, and bullshit my way into an answer.
But you DO invent, contrive, and bullshit your way into claiming there is a problem.
I leave it to the trained experts to sort out, in the same way I leave brain surgery to neurosurgeons.
Sort what out? Define 'climate change'.
My limited layperson understanding suggests that we need a mix of
adaptation (modifying our infrastructure and public works to be resilient in the face of climate change),
Define 'climate change'.
and mitigation (reducing GHG emissions and increasing GHG sinks).
No gas or vapor has the capability to warm the Earth.

What do you mean, "an experiment"?

Like Bill Nye did for mouth-breathers? Here's the link: https://www.smithsonianmag.com/videos/category/science/climate-change-101-with-bill-nye-the-science/

Now it's four minutes long, which might be too long for your attention span, but Nye uses a lot of colors so you should be able to focus.

I see you fell for the old parlor trick. Bill Nye denies science and mathematics, dumbass. All the parlor trick shows is that CO2 absorbs infrared light. That does not warm the Earth.

Of course the climate changed before man...no one is denying that.

What you're denying is that man can change the climate, and you're denying that simply because admitting you were wrong would end up having a cascading effect on everything else you believe, ultimately coming down to questioning of your personal judgment and instincts. So basically, since you're so wrong about man's affect on climate, wouldn't that mean that poor judgment steered you wrong in other places? Like taxes, defense, guns, etc.?

If you were so wrong about something so simple and obvious, that casts doubt on your judgment when it comes to other things.

Climate doesn't change...ever. A desert climate will always be a desert climate. A tropical climate will always be a tropical climate. It doesn't matter where the desert or tropical area is.
