A democracy is government by majority rule. It has no constitution.
A republic is government by law. It has a constitution.
Either form of government may use representatives. The existence of representatives does not define the structure of that government. Even a dictator is a representative (at least of those that go along with him).

Incorrect. A republic is government by law. It has a constitution. That constitution is the highest law of the land, including the power to define and structure the government it creates. The United States is organized as a federated republic.
We are NOT that. The United States is government by law, not of men. It has a constitution. It is a federated republic. It has multiple layers of constitutions. Democracies have no constitution. It is mob rule.
