Jussie Smollett Hires Defense Attorney

This story checks so many different boxes that it's going to continue to draw national attention. It's now being reported that the police have released the two Nigerian men without charges (at least yet) and that Mr. Smollett has hired Chicago defense attorney Michael Monico who is considered one of the best in the country. I'm probably missing something here but on the surface if you're the victim I don't see why you need a defense attorney.

I'm sure they'll be additional information to come.

Way to out yourself as an out of touch old white guy. First off Empire is a huge show. So yes when a celebrity gets attached it’s going to make national news. Especially, when as first reported, it was racist white guys attacking a gay black man yelling #maga. For people of color this story was very relevant. Was discussed all over social media by black folks. But again, you’re just an old white dude so why should you give a sh*t right, Mr. Progressive?

Except his story didn’t fully pass the sniff test from day one and looks like it could be unraveling. Enjoy your bubble Domer.
 
Hopefully, after arresting and prosecuting Mr. Smollett, the City of Chicago sends him a bill for the time spend on the case.

I'm trying to figure out if the guy who killed five of his co-workers and wounded four police officers in Illinois was a white supremacy Trump supporter. Was he carrying a bottle of bleach with him?
