Liberals, You’re Not as Smart as You Think

Voters in CA are just as much Americans as the guy from West Virginia, erroneous the way conservatives keep raising CA as if it is an anomaly

It's been made very clear whether you win California by one vote or four million you win the same number of electoral votes

He should do a follow-up article titled, "American conservatives...you are a lot dumber than you think you are...and most of you realize that a huge number of you are incredibly stupid and gullible."

Okay, okay...that would be a cumbersome title.

But you get the picture.

If the author actually thinks "Liberals are not as smart as they think they are" is a thought of value to share...

...imagine what he should think of the pervasive stupidity and gullibility of the preponderance of American conservatives...and the appalling lack of acknowledgement of that problem by so many American conservatives that have a modicum of intelligence.

Wow, there was a pretty civilized conversation going on here until a "smart" liberal dropped by

conservatives were the ones in 2016 that had an actual narrative and message - make america great again.

Clintons message was "im with her".. which is meaningless. And all she did was attack trump, hoping it would be enough to put her 50 points ahead. Alas, you got schlonged.

I wish you were on JPP in november 2016 cypress. I am sure you would have been one of the smuggest cunts leading up to what eventually ended up being one of the biggest crow feasts of all time.

MAGA is a fucking meme not a message. And no way a narrative. It is and was childishly simple and meaningless. Not much wiser than Lock Her Up. Just drivel.

The article reads to me like conservatives have an inferiority complex. It literally screams resentment complex.

I do not think I can respect anyone who votes for a deranged and incompetent reality TV star because liberals annoy them. Being against liberals is not a viable political philosophy. Do conservatives actually stand for anything anymore?

You can look at your own party for those last two sentences. The resistance is just that, anti-trump. Not that this board is reflective of America but when was the last time a liberals started a thread on an issue? Basically every thread is about Trump. I've not seen even one thread on who democrats think are the rising stars in the party. Not one thread on various state issues that they support. For all the rhetoric around supporting the working man and the poor has anyone started a thread on dealing with the homeless? And no liberal has started a thread on the housing crisis in many cities.

I've read old threads on this board before and in 2007 you started a number of threads during the democratic primary for why you supported Edwards over Obama and Hillary. Not that you have to but I haven't seen you start any threads like that recently about what you support within your party. Everything is about Republicans and Trump.

"making any thing of value they may have to say meaningless," isn't that the view any conservative would have of anything the left said?

I don't believe people on the right, and even less those in the middle, actually feel martyred or belittled because of something a comedian or film actor said or did
your posts are a micro-aggression.....

I don't understand Cons/Reps who spent 8 years of President Obama's presidency accusing Libs/Dems of hating America and being too damn critical of it even though it is the best country in the world blah blah blah and then along comes Trump and suddenly it's Make America Great Again...which clearly indicates you all didn't think America was that great either.

Fucking hypocrites.

I can't speak for people who voted for Trump but the argument seems pretty simple to me if its what you believe. If you think eight years of Obama were bad and America was great before he got to office and bad mouthed the country etc. then there is nothing hypocritical about saying make America great again.

yes it is small. 120 million people voted. she had the popular vote by like 2 percent. 2% = small.

If I tell you I have 5 of something, to determine if it were large sum or a small sum it would depend on the context. If I had 5 houses, that'd be a lot. If I had 5 nickles, that's 25 cents.

saying "2 million" absent of any context is something retards do. Are you a retard?

#be best.

When people repeatedly refer to you as uneducated deplorables how do you think people feel? And yeah when you continually hear that from those with the biggest microphone it has an effect
I just laugh at them. Clinton was as Deplorable as it gets-and her excuse tour shows her vindictive pettiness berefit of understanding the American people

Same kind of propaganda hitler used. "Today germany, tomorrow the world"

You mean the evil NYT has conservative authors?

Interesting article, but I don't buy it, the mere fact that the overwhelming number of Americans voted for Clinton, as bad as a candidate as she was, kinda disproves his thesis. Hard to believe a good number of those individuals are going to change their view in 2020 because they feel the left is smug and condescending

It Trump maintains Obama's economy, you knew I had to throw that in, and the Democrats run another bad candidate, Trump could win, but five years away is an eternity in politics

Of course, we're seeing more store closings, Younkers and Herberger's, whom I'd, frankly, never heard of before. Not a good economic sign.

I understand america better after trump's victory. This country has more nazis and racists that I knew existed here. It took trumpspeak to embolden them.

claptrap. you understand nothing at all about vast swatches of closed factories and mills ,
and China's currency manipulation coupled with various other Free Trade abuses.

But i'm good with that.
Keep telling yourself only racist and Nazis support Trump, and keep on not coming up with an economic agenda
to benefit the middle class.

The Democratic party is as useless as tits on a boar hog.
A long walk in the woods ( like 8 years) will do you good to focus on reality

I think the slogan also refers to Clinton and the Bushes, as well.

haha when reading this I was basically saying to myself... hmmm that sounds familiar.

I say it time and time again, JPP doesn't appreciate how lucky they are to have me here. I am literally a genius on this stuff, and they hear it months, sometimes years before it ever hits the NYT. my finger is on the pulse. I am a political soothsayer. Maybe even a god.

and so fucking humble!
