Has he been charged on the possession counts?
I haven't watched the trial so my opinions aren't studied or legal, just visceral.
I want this kid convicted of something serious, some form of criminal homicide, because I think any civilian going out in public with an AR and then if death happens...
that civilian is culpable. Nobody should ever be out in any street brandishing a weapon unless you are a cop. This vigilante
coddling must be cut out at the roots. It should not hinge on the niceties of his imminent state of mind, or his immediate fear.
It should be like the felony murder rule. If someone dies while you are committing a felony, you are a murderer.
We need that law to apply to this.
If you leave your home and brandish a weapon, and then someone dies, you are guilty of murder, because it was likely to happen
when you decided to go out that day. You heightened that risk of death 1000 fold.
If somebody goes out on my street brandishing a weapon, my working assumption is this guy is a nut who should be taken out.
