But I think it all went down on the Little Pigeon River in TN. Another nice place. Rode the bike on part of the Appalachian Trail. Trail head was right above the Pigeon. See my profile pic.

Seriously, some of you need to leave the stereotypes behind and get out more.

We don’t have any of that. This part of Appalachia is basically a rain forest a good bit of Spring and into early summer so there’s never a shortage of canopy on the trails. And absolutely, it can make a big difference.

Great, you are very fortunate not to have them.....

They are prevalent in drier arid regions & are a scourge. I have had five flats in four days because of them & can't go into some areas because they are so prevalent..

I had big nobbies, green slime in the heavy duty tube + a Kevlar liner between tube & tire-still got flats....:palm:

I canoed down the Shenandoah 200 miles and caught way more smallmouth bass than logged miles.

...and a giant carp. Great memories. West VA is a stunningly beautiful state. Especially in autumn
