That would require them to take their espoused religion seriously. We should treat foreigners in our land as we would like to be treated in theirs.
It's the Golden Rule.

IOW, nobody should take their religion seriously. They're free to twist it to fit what they want to believe. You miss the point. I am saying one person cannot declare another person is hypocritical about his religion because he favors deporting illegal immigrants while the Bible says be good to foreigners. There many ways to interpret both views as consistent with his religious beliefs. That person making the claim is just using religion to attack religious views.
Certainly I think a person's religious views and behavior should be consistent, but I can't determine whether anyone meets those standards. Certainly somebody else should not make that determination; especially when they are simply using it as an excuse to attack the person's views in a self-righteous approach.
Neither person is meeting any Biblical command to be good to foreigners regardless of their views about immigration laws. They are both doing nothing to help the situation.
I personally believe most people's beliefs are not consistent with their behavior and have trouble remembering that should not be a criticism of religion but how humans apply religion.
Actually, it's the idea of America that they hate. They love their twisted image of America. Again, MAGA is code for "Make America White Again".Not exactly accurate, IMO. They love the *idea* of America, but hate over half the ppl who are their fellow citizens.

That is up to each individual but it has nothing to do with anything I said. Many people do take their religion seriously and do not think they are twisting it to fit what they want to believe.
The point is that it is not the job of me or you to claim a person's religious beliefs are not serious or that they are not consistent with his political beliefs or actions. Presuming to understand whether a person's religious beliefs are consistent with his political beliefs is arrogance hiding snarky political attacks as concern with religion.
There's no doubt about that. Can you imagine though if Obama had used that for a slogan? The screaming, the outrage, the exploding Reichwing heads? "What does he mean by that? We're not already great?!" "Just what you'd expect to hear from an America-hating Kenyan Marxist!" "That's code for FEMA camps!"

You seem fine with scolding those who us who point out Xtian hypocrisy re: their proclaimed beliefs versus what they say about various political issues that contradict those beliefs.
So far as I've seen, though, you seem silent when it comes to Xtians telling us non-believers that our political POVs are informed by lack of morality and godliness, that we believe in going around killing babies and want to persecute Xtians and force them to violate their beliefs by making cakes for gay couples.
Then you have missed many of my posts defending separation of church and state by those claiming we "took prayer out of the schools," that freedom of religion and establishment of religion do not apply to the states, etc. Those are factual issues I usually limit myself to discussing. Somebody claiming abortion is immoral is an opinion not cannot be shown to be factually wrong. To those who have posted that abortion is murder I have responded by saying it is not legally murder because it does not meet the elements of laws against murder.
You seem to remember my posts you disagree with more than those with which you might agree.
IOW, what their religion says is completely meaningless and mutable to fit whatever they want it to fit. You are just demonstrating what a fraud religion is.
About you, yes, extremely accurate.
