I heard this in youtube and it blew my mind. In forcing everyone to stay at home the government has taken us from our regular jobs and conscripted us to produce "safety". I.E. our productive work is not to spread the virus and the government has deemed this important enough to force us to do it. From this lens it only makes sense that the government pay us what we should be earning if they had not conscripted us.

Anybody can make a video, and post it on YouTube, even Russian intelligence to propagate misinformation.
So what does that look like? What does it look like in a restaurant? A bar? A movie theater? An office? A sporting event? How about summer festivals? Fireworks? Parades? Do we reopen these packing plants that have been petri dishes for the virus? Reopening the economy in any meaningful way eliminates most of the social distancing measures currently in place. And based on the polling, no one is going to go to those businesses anyway.
It is like a bad flu season ONLY because we shut things down. Reopening them will inevitably make this much worse. Either that, or it will have little impact on the economy.

I'm not arguing against the shutdown- the point is the models were WAY OFF ( and did factor in a quarantine) -and it's time to be going for herd immunity -the only real answer because a vaccine for a corona virus doesn't happen.
Yes you can have outdoor parades and fireworks - the question is what to do about restaurants/theaters etc where social distancing may make it impracticle to open.

So you think parade crowds can engage in social distancing? Festivals? Concerts? No, they can't. You act like people can't catch the virus outdoors. Of course they can. And please, don't try to excuse Trumps galactically stupid statement by pointing out the UV rays can kill the virus. DUH. On surfaces. Hey, let's just make everyone wings, and they can fly up in the air, that gives us a third dimension to work with while practicing social distancing. Maybe Trump can look into that.
