Or both. Such a case would involve more than a simple mistake on one year's tax forms. They'd have to show a pattern of behavior that rules out error and goes to criminal intent to defraud the State of New York.

Therefore, yes, indictments almost always follow because only idiotic prosecutors want to look like idiots in front of a grand jury and waste taxpayer dollars on frivolous cases.

Without knowing the charges, it's difficult to know if Trump could go to jail for his crimes, but a conviction is certainly going to put a damper on his party life.

Trump is still a billionaire. When the economy picks up, so will the profits of TrumpCo.

OTOH, I agree he'll probably have to start liquidating some assets to pay off his debts and mounting legal bills for both himself and his oldest children.
