WASHINGTON (Reuters) - Mexico will deploy its national guard to its southern border with Guatemala, the Mexican foreign minister said on Thursday, as part of the country’s bid to stem Central American migration that has drawn U.S. President Donald Trump’s ire.

“We have explained that there are 6,000 men and that they will be deployed there,” Foreign Minister Marcelo Ebrard told reporters in televised remarks as he left a meeting with U.S. officials in Washington.

Ebrard added that Mexico’s talks with the United States about migration will continue on Friday. Trump has threatened to slap tariffs on Mexican imports starting next week if Mexico does not do more to contain the migrant flows.

No what he was ignoring is the deal made with Mexico back in March of this year....where Mexico agreed to deploy its National Guard in order to curtail the wave of illegals crossing their border, then allowing the free travel from the southern tip of the Mexican Border to our southern border. MEXICO was not living up to its pledge in the least. After "MONTHS" of non action by Mexico.....Mr. Trump then threatened them with economic retribution for their failure to live up to their good faith agreement. Its not rocket science....it simply pisses off the left to know there is more than one way to skin a GATO.

And he was ignoring the reality behind the threat of economic penalties by Mr. Trump. Apparently Mexico does not take its pledges seriously as long as they can still use the US TAXPAYERS and Business owners as cash cows.

“I am pleased to inform you that The United States of America has reached a signed agreement with Mexico,” Trump said on Twitter. “The Tariffs scheduled to be implemented by the U.S. on Monday, against Mexico, are hereby indefinitely suspended,” he said.

“Mexico, in turn, has agreed to take strong measures to stem the tide of Migration through Mexico, and to our Southern Border. This is being done to greatly reduce, or eliminate, Illegal Immigration coming from Mexico and into the United States,” Trump said.
