Starmer overrode the vetting of Peter Mandelson when he failed his security clearance to become ambassador to the US. If you have forgotten Mandelson had to resign because of his ties to Epstein. Starmer wanted him as ambassador so he told them to make sure he passed the security clearance anyway. Then in February he told Peliment he had read the documents on Mendelson and did not see any problems with Mendelson in them. Now text messages are proving Starmer overrode Mendelson's security cleanse. So Starmer lied to the parliament and there is a big stink over it. Starmer could potentially have to step down

trump overrode the security clearance requirement for Jarod Kushner. Due to his business dealings in the mid-East the CIA considered the fuckhead compromised.. Should trump resign?

Honestly, this will blow over. The British accept that to deal with trump, you got to get your hands dirty, and you have to deal with trump somewhat. The question becomes how dirty everyone's hands are. Andrew and Mandelson got their hands way, way too dirty, where as Starmer got his hands much less dirty.

Starmer needed an ambassador that had a connection to trump. Mandelson was the only member of Labour who had a connection to trump. The few others were all Conservatives(Andrew unofficially), and were just as morally tainted as Mandelson.

It is a very difficult situation: how do you deal with trump? There are no clear answers. I advice distance when possible.
