You have a point here. If Democrats or the Atlantic actually had verifiable evidence it would be all over the news. 24/7. It is not like they respect any "anonymous" source. Look what they did with Christine Blasely Ford. She begged them to keep her anonymous and they agreed. The left is so desperate right now if there were in fact irrefutable evidence of this it would be out already. Either way, I just want the damn truth.
The polls have consistently stated most people have already made up their minds. The billions of dollars worth of propaganda are being spent in key states where a few percentage points can flip the state. It stands to reason why Trump is having to spend more since he's behind:

It's up to General Kelly. He hasn't denied it, which is interesting. Trump attacked him, which is interesting. The fact that you and I both know Trump has a track record disdaining the military makes the story believable even though unverified.
My guess is that Generals Kelly, Mattis and a few others will step forward, maybe in October.

I don't know what the October Surprise will be but those are two good ones. If Trump tries it with Durham then it is a lame one. That'll only give his base some red meat. Trying to tie that to Biden will fall like a house of cards.
The COVID deaths are expected. Most people are pretty clear our own government failed in its duties of preparedness and, in Trump's case, the response. That responsibility falls are hard on Congress as Trump. Both Trump and the Republican Senate may go down for it, but most voters already know about it.
Trump is clearly his own worst enemy. His behavior is coming back to bite him. As soon as I saw him attacking General Kelly, I knew the story was true. Having both Generals Kelly and Mattis step forward and condemn Trump with specific references would be bad enough for Trump, but if they endorse Biden too, I suspect that would tip the election in Biden's favor.
