This what they wrote: "Smollett now says he fought back, but apparently he lost neither his Subway sandwich nor his cell phone in this brawl." And what I'm asking is where is the proof of this statement?
They seem to be saying that it's a given those things would be lost.

This site and other RW sites have been on overdrive trying to prove that Smollett faked the attack, and they use the uncorroborated bit about the sandwich as an attempt to say if he really was attacked he would have lost the sandwich and the phone.

What was the original story? A gay black man was jumped/assualted by two white Trump supporters with a hang noose, bleach and yelled "#maga, this is Trump country" at him. I mean that's some pretty bad sh*t. It rightfully made national news and yes it made Trump and Trump supporters look very bad.
Well now we have this new info that the attack could possibly have been staged or something else going on other than what Smollett originally told the police. I'm not hell bent on proving the guy a liar, I'm just discussing what's being reported in the news. But I think it should be pretty obvious if this turns out to be false why Trump supporters would want it to be known.
