US steel drops plan for $1.5 billion plant

According to the article, US Steel sais it was canceling its plans because “the world has changed in the two years since it announced its intentions. Biden has been President for four months, so, how is this his fault?

The world has indeed changed in the last two years:

The federal government has fallen and is being converted into an oligarchy.
Government individuals in Pennsylvania have violated Pennsylvania's own constitution in changing election law illegally.
The Pennsylvania election faulted.
Market demand for steel has dropped quite a lot due to Democrats shutting down the economy.
The Democrat 'tax the rich' scheme and their 'fuck the corporations' scheme is very active now.

Really can't blame US Steel.

Not to mention the steel workers that would have had careers at that union steel plant...

I think union workers should all vote against Joke. He insults them, ignores them, loses them jobs... How the hell can they and their unions give money to the party that's screwing them over?
The GOP is now the party of the working man. The Dems love to disrespect the "uneducated" . They don't realize its the working man that makes this country run.

Shocking, another denier, admit it, no election anywhere is ever going to be accepted by you as legitimate unless your candidate wins, I do believe adolescents have a term for that type behavior

Still trying to ignore all that evidence, eh? You can't wish it away dude.

Corporations are increasingly Woke, arguing that America Sucks!

People will find work in the new, useful, eco-friendly industries. Filth-producers should have been phased out some time back. Too bad for the polluting bosses- and their disreputable shareholders- but hey, there's no planet B.

Define 'eco-friendly' industry.

Thanks Joe...:palm:

God forbid western Pennsylvanians should be permitted to breathe clean air.

"It also said it will shut down batteries 1, 2 and 3 at its Clairton Plant by early 2023 — representing approximately 17% of coke production at the plant — to help reduce polluting emissions from equipment long-criticized as among the area’s worst polluters."

GREAT JOB, PRES.MORON !!!!!!

NOW ADD IN THE BIDEN INFLATION BUBBLE ,AND WE SEE A DUNCE WELL ON THE WAY TO SCREWING UP THE GREATEST ECONOMY OF OUR LIFETIMES....

What does Biden have to do with this, screamin' Grokweenie? He's not even mentioned in the article.

"The Pittsburgh Regional Building Trades Council pinned the blame for the loss of the project on unnamed local elected officials that it accused of a lack of support and open hostility toward the company and its workers."

The bolded is crucial messaging to get out. I agree that we shouldn't be referring to what happened on November 3rd (and weeks afterward) as an "election" in any way/shape/form. Biden was installed, not elected, and I like what Trump is doing, hereby referring to the event as The Big Lie.

You and ITN are certifiable.

Everything's his fault, don't you know? His name wasn't even in the article but dammit, it's still his fault!

One of the ways it changed is Biden got elected. One of the first things he did is ban fracking on federal land. Since he's clearly moving towards the Green New Deal which for US Steel means it's likely better to build in another country where they won't be facing onerous pollution rules.

Western PA isn't federal land and the people are allowed a say-so about fracking.

They started two years ago on this. The local building officials were foot dragging on permits and such. Now Biden is in office on top of that. They decided it wasn't worth pursuing further. Biden was the proverbial straw that broke the camel's back.

Read the history. The iron and steel industry in western PA collapsed in the 1980s. trump promised to rejuvenate those industries back in 2016 but in reality he didn't do squat.

"There were about 11,300 jobs in iron and steel mills and ferroalloy manufacturing in Pennsylvania in January 2017, according to the St. Louis Fed. Those numbers climbed some during Trump’s first term, but never exceeded 12,000. Amid the COVID-19 pandemic, those jobs plummeted from 11,700 in March to 10,000 in April and had yet to recover in August.

“There’s a difference in bringing back the steel industry, even if that’s possible, and bringing it back in the traditional steel areas like here in southwestern Pennsylvania,” said Chris Briem, a regional economist with the University of Pittsburgh’s Center for Social and Urban Research.

“Clearly,” he said, “steel has not seen any great resurgence in the region.”

Think about all of the construction workers building a 1.5 billion dollar plant would have employed. Thanks Biden you screwed the American union worker again.

 This has zero to do with Biden. If you read and understood the articles, you'll find out that opposition to this plant has been going on for years and it's local.

The PA election law was changed legally, with bipartisan support, by the republican-dominated legislature. And it happened a year before the election.

I can guarantee you, when steel is no longer available- obtainable- or affordable- Automobile manufacturers will just start using more readily available, affordable, and obtainable materials.

PROBLEM SOLVED!

NEXT!

Hell yeah, just shut down every fucking business so you can think you can breathe clean air. Yep, fuck good jobs, we don't need 'em.
