This is one seriously depressing election

I know I do it so I'm not above it but not everyone fits politically into neat little boxes no matter how hard we try to put them in one.

For instance, how does a "blue state" like Wisconsin have one "red" and one "blue" Senator along with a "red" Governor? Clearly not everyone in the state is voting straight party line every election.

They always say we're more of a purple country. Most people are more complex than the partisans.

I hate to sound like an old-timer, but Washington used to be that way. With gerrymandering, both parties now represent more of the extremes.

Man, did I call it or what?

It's actually been worse than I thought. I mean, people don't even want their kids watching the news anymore. And discourse has completely broken down.

What a mess. It's hard to imagine that we could go much lower than what we have this year.

It's a great election, a chance for real positive change.
But from a donkey perspective, yeah its bad.
Yeah, real positive change won't happen till you change Congress, yet, you all keep voting in the same tired Congress critters. It makes no sense. Trumptards are clueless.

I love it! It's been a (useless) gas of inanities every day. It's pure circus, nobody is drilling down to how they would govern,
and few get the idea of the populist revolution that started this!

Seeing just how slimy Clinton is was an unexpected bonus by Wiki - it's what passes for transparency/investigation is 21st century America

It's been so long since there as any leadership in the donkey party you can't imagine the effect.

I mean, I try not to get caught up in this stuff, since I ultimately don't care about appeasing anyone here in terms of being "accepted" or seen a certain way.

But I'm definitely a screaming lefty about some things. I wish I did align w/ a certain party, since it would seem easier in a way.
it's hard to find alignment if you are a centrist. I'm drifting right because the Dems are insanely drifting left -and I resist extremes.

But the really big thing is populism...if trump wasn't such a gas bag, we might have gotten somewhere
in destroying DC's lethargic bloated self serving oligarchy.

But at least that is out there now.

No one here will believe me on this, at all, but I do not want a liberal court. I also don't want an ultra-conservative court. My ideal would have been the current Congress approving Obama's nominee (who is pretty moderate), and then see a guy like Kasich become Prez, who is very conservative but who I believe would be more measured in his appointments.

Instead, we will have a far left court, for a long time.

I hear you. American politics are pure polarization.
All I can do is push back on the extremes. I don't usually call out Republicans as much as I should-
because the focus is on POTUS.

Not much we can do. except call out the nutiness

based dilbert merchant makes a very good argument about why the court should be 4v4 permanently and I think i would prefer it that way.
